Fire Door Inspections

Fire Doors play a key role in building safety. To help protect property and save lives, these doors must properly operate in the event of a fire. Tar River Lock & Key is able to assist facility owners and tenants in their legal obligation to maintain openings in compliance with fire and life safety codes (such as NFPA 80, NFPA 101).
All of our Fire Door Inspectors are Certified through the ALOA Fire Door Inspection program and are required to recertify every three years to stay up to date on changes in building codes.

The inspection consists of:

  • Pre-inspection meeting
  • Thirteen Point Visual and Mechanical Inspection of the facilities fire doors
  • Comprehensive report (with pictures) of all deficiencies
  • Written and Digital opening inspection report
  • Annual re-inspection for continued code compliance

The Benefits of fire door inspection include:

  • Inspection of all fire doors to meet NFPA 80 requirements
  • AHJ compliant report
  • Visual identification of openings
  • Inspection of principle egress doors to meet NFPA 101 requirements
  • Inspections help you meet insurance and HIPPA requirements
